Deep Groove Ball Bearing Spec Table
The most versatile ball bearing, supporting both radial and bidirectional axial loads. Widely used in motors, reducers, and conveyors.
Practical Notes
- Inner ring: interference fit to shaft (k5–m6); outer ring: clearance fit to housing (H7). Both interference eliminates internal clearance, drastically reducing bearing life.
- Pre-greased bearings still need re-lubrication every 5,000–10,000 hours. Even sealed (2RS) types are not maintenance-free forever.
- Apply force only to the inner ring during installation. Hammering the outer ring damages balls and raceways (brinelling). Hydraulic press or heat mounting is correct.
Selection Guide
The most versatile bearing — supports radial + bidirectional axial loads. First choice for motors, conveyors, pumps. Shields (ZZ) for dusty environments, contact seals (2RS) for wet. For heavy loads consider roller bearings; for heavy axial loads, angular contact or thrust bearings.

FAQ
What does each digit in 6205ZZ mean?
6=deep groove ball bearing, 2=width series (standard), 05=25mm bore (05×5=25), ZZ=double metal shields. Below 05: special (00=10, 01=12, 02=15, 03=17, 04=20mm); 05 and above multiply by 5.
What is the difference between ZZ and 2RS?
ZZ (metal shields) are non-contact for lower friction and higher speed. 2RS (rubber contact seals) provide better sealing against moisture and dust. Choose ZZ for speed, 2RS for contamination protection.
