A round nut tightened with a spanner slot or pin holes, used for bearing retention and shaft positioning.
Practical Notes
- Always use with lock washers (tab washers). Without them, vibration loosens the nut and disturbs bearing preload.
- Use hook or pin spanners. Hammering with a chisel damages the nut and prevents precision adjustment.
Selection Guide
For bearing preload adjustment, ball screw locking, and spindle shaft positioning. Tightened with hook or pin spanners; must be used with lock washers (tab washers) to prevent loosening.

How to lock round nuts?
Bend the tab washer tab into the nut slot for physical anti-loosening. Threadlocker is supplementary only — always use with tab washers.
