Ductile Iron Equivalent Chart
Ductile Iron KS Specifications — 3 sizes
SPS-KFCA-D4302-5016
FCD400 (JIS) = GCD400 (KS) = EN-GJS-400-15 (DIN) = A536 Gr.60-40-18 (ANSI): equivalent ductile cast irons with excellent ductility.
Practical Notes
- FCD has much higher toughness and strength than gray iron (FC). Suitable for high-strength castings: crankshafts, gears, valves.
- Spheroidization (Mg addition) quality directly affects mechanical properties. Verify ≥80% nodularity during casting.

Key Features
- GCD (FCD) series; nodular graphite distribution improves toughness 5–10× over gray cast iron
- FCD400 (tensile 400 MPa) / FCD500 / FCD600 / FCD700; further hardenable by heat treatment
- Simultaneously meets castability and strength; can replace forgings for cost reduction
Key Applications
Automotive crankshafts, hydraulic valve bodies, pipe fittings, gear housings, wind turbine hubs
FAQ
Difference between FCD400 and FCD700?
FCD400 (tensile 400MPa, elongation 15%) emphasizes toughness; FCD700 (700MPa, 2%) emphasizes strength. FCD400 for impact; FCD700 for static strength.
