Nylon Nut Spec Table
Nylon Nut Specifications — 5 sizes
A plastic (nylon) nut offering insulation, light weight, and corrosion resistance.
Practical Notes
- Softens above 80°C — avoid high temperatures. UV degrades nylon over time; use caution outdoors.
- Set low torque. Applying metal-nut torque levels strips or cracks plastic threads.
Selection Guide
For electrical insulation, weight reduction, and corrosion resistance. 70–85% lighter than metal; prevents galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals. Limited torque capacity and softens above 80°C.

Temperature range for nylon nuts?
-40°C to +80°C. Softens above 80°C; becomes brittle below -40°C. For extreme environments, consider PEEK or other engineering plastic nuts.
