Snap Ring (Bore) Spec Table

Snap Ring (Bore) Specifications — 41 sizes
KS B 1337DIN 472

An internal C-type circlip that fits into a housing bore groove to prevent shafts or bearings from dislodging. Installed with internal snap ring pliers.

Practical Notes

  • Use internal snap ring pliers — opposite spreading direction from external type.
  • Groove machining precision in bore wall is critical. Out-of-spec groove diameter causes ring ejection or insertion failure.

Key Features

  • Internal C-type retaining ring fitted in housing groove to prevent axial displacement of shafts and bearings
  • Installed with internal snap ring pliers using elastic snap-fit action
  • KS B 1337 / DIN 472 / ISO 5426; covers bore diameters 8–100 mm

Key Applications

Bearing housing positioning, cylinder internal piston retention, hydraulic valve internal part fixing, gear case assembly

FAQ

What loads do internal snap rings support?

Prevents axial displacement only — not for heavy axial loads. Use shoulder stops or nut retention for heavy axial loads.
