Aluminum Alloy Spec Table

Aluminum Alloy KS Specifications — 3 sizes
KS D 6701

Aluminum alloys offering light weight, corrosion resistance, and machinability. Common grades (A6061, A5052) used in aerospace, automotive, and electronics.

Practical Notes

  • A5052 excels in sheet metal formability; A6061-T6 offers structural strength. Select alloy by application.
  • Aluminum corrodes galvanically when touching steel. Block contact with insulating washers or coatings.

Key Features

  • A5052 (corrosion) / A6061 (structural) / A7075 (ultra-high strength); density 2.7 for lightweight design
  • T6 heat treatment yields max tensile 570 MPa (7075-T6); weld HAZ strength reduction noted
  • Various surface treatments: anodizing, alodine; recyclability over 95%

Key Applications

Aircraft structures, automotive wheels/panels, semiconductor chambers, bicycle frames, electronics housings

FAQ

Difference between A5052-H32 and A6061-T6?

A5052-H32 is work-hardened general sheet alloy (230MPa tensile). A6061-T6 is heat-treated structural alloy (310MPa). Sheet metal→5052; structural→6061.
