U-Bolt Spec Table

U-Bolt Specifications — 9 sizes
SPS-KSA0117-V3032-5988

A U-shaped bolt for clamping and fixing pipes or round members.

Practical Notes

  • Select U-bolt matching pipe OD. Mismatched curvature creates 2-point contact and deforms the pipe.
  • Tighten both nuts alternately and evenly. One-side-first tightening twists the U-bolt and causes uneven clamping.

Selection Guide

Clamps round members — pipes, rods, cable trays. Curvature is standardized to pipe OD, so select by nominal pipe size. Over-tightening deforms pipes; torque control is necessary. Use hot-dip galvanized versions for outdoor environments.

Key Features

  • U-shaped curve wraps around pipes/rods; curvature standardized per pipe OD
  • Nuts on both threaded ends distribute clamping force evenly
  • Hot-dip galvanized (HDG) option ensures corrosion resistance for outdoor/marine use

Key Applications

Pipe supports, automotive leaf spring mounting, handrail pipes, cable trays, marine piping

FAQ
