General Steel (SPCC) Spec Table

General Steel (SPCC) KS Specifications — 13 sizes
KS D 3512

Minimum bend radius (R) and height (L) for general cold-rolled steel (SPCC). Design above minimum values to prevent cracking.

Practical Notes

  • Min inside R = 0–0.5t (t: sheet thickness). Zero-R bending possible but micro-cracks risk above 1.6mm.
  • Bending perpendicular to rolling direction allows smaller R. Cross-direction has better ductility.

Key Features

  • Cold-rolled SPCC standard; minimum inside bend radius (R) table relative to plate thickness (t)
  • Range t0.5–3.0 mm; minimum R differs by rolling direction (longitudinal/transverse)
  • Transverse bend R ≥ 0.8t, longitudinal bend R ≥ 1.0t as general guideline

Key Applications

Appliance sheet metal cases, office furniture, electrical distribution boxes, interior building materials, general machine covers

FAQ

Minimum bend R for SPCC?

At t1.0, minimum R = 0–0.5mm (0t–0.5t). However, zero-R bending risks micro-cracks above t1.2mm — R ≥ 0.5t recommended for safety.
