Aluminum Plate Spec Table

Aluminum Plate Specifications — 33 sizes
KS D 6701JIS H 4000

Aluminum plate (A5052, A6061, etc.), lightweight with excellent corrosion resistance. Used in aerospace, electronics housings, and light structures.

Practical Notes

  • Direct contact between aluminum and steel causes galvanic corrosion. Use insulating washers or coatings to prevent dissimilar metal contact.

Selection Guide

For weight reduction. A5052 for general use (excellent formability), A6061 for structural (high strength, T6 heat treatment). Density 1/3 of steel; anodizing improves corrosion resistance and appearance.

Key Features

  • Application classified by alloy: A1050 (pure), A5052 (corrosion resistant), A6061 (structural)
  • Density 2.7—one-third of steel (7.85); core material for lightweight design
  • Anodizing surface treatment simultaneously achieves hardness, corrosion resistance, and coloring

Key Applications

Aircraft skin, electronics heat sinks, automotive wheels, building curtain walls, ship superstructures

FAQ

Difference between A5052 and A6061?

A5052 excels in sheet metal formability (bending, pressing). A6061-T6 has higher strength after heat treatment for structural use. Choose 5052 for forming, 6061 for strength.
