Recommended endmill feed per tooth (fz, mm/tooth), depth of cut (ap), and width of cut (ae) ratios. Values differ by flute count (2, 4, ball), diameter (Ø3–Ø20), and workpiece material (S45C, SUS304, A5052, SKD11). Feed rate is F = fz·z·n, where z is the flute count and n is spindle RPM. Generic machining uses ap = d×0.5 and ae = d×0.5; stainless demands low feed and shallow cuts; aluminum allows high feed. Hardened SKD11 dies require less than half the fz and a high-speed / shallow-cut finishing strategy.
