A pan-head screw with a Phillips (+) drive, tightened with a screwdriver. Widely used in appliance and electronics assembly.

Practical Notes

  • Match Phillips driver size exactly: M3→#1, M4–M5→#2, M6→#3. Wrong size causes cam-out and strips the cross recess.
  • Set low torque on power drivers. Overtorque strips the head or cracks plastic bosses.

Selection Guide

For light-duty fastening in appliances, electronics, and plastic housings. Quick to drive, ideal for high-volume assembly lines. Mainly M2–M6; not suitable for high torque. Cam-out is common, so matching the correct Phillips driver size (#1/#2/#3) is critical.

FAQ

How to choose Phillips driver size?

M2–M3→#1, M3.5–M5→#2, M6–M8→#3. Wrong size causes cam-out, stripping the cross recess.

Difference between Pozidriv and Phillips?

Pozidriv (PZ) has additional cross slots for less cam-out. Common in European products. Using Phillips drivers on PZ damages the recess.
